iOS 8 Banners at WWDC

iOS 8 Banner

I wouldn’t read too much into it, but the “8” isn’t set in Helvetica Neue — it’s set in Myriad. Which makes sense, since it’s Apple’s corporate typeface. But it makes me wonder if we’ll see it used as the system font in iOS 8.

I’ve been saying since iOS 7 was released that the UI would really suit a nice, humanist typeface like Myriad or Avenir.

Update: OS X banners are going up. Looks like it’ll be called “Yosemite” after all.
